There are several small islands with a great history between Naxos and Amorgos, known as East Small Cyclades. They are all waiting to be discovered and the best way to see these little rock-pearls is to charter a sailing yacht. It is not by coincidence that many luxury fully crewed yachts include these islands in all their trips. Donoussa, Pano Koufonissi, Schinoussa, Iraklia are the populated islands and Keros and Kato Koufonissi are non-inhabited. Despite the strong North winds that blow in the so-called “small Cyclades” the whole area is considered a shelter for the sailing yachts mostly because the distances from one island to another is less than one hour sail and also because there are protected beautiful coves on the leeward side of the islands where the boats can anchor and overnight safely.
This is the little ferry that connects all the small Cyclades with Naxos island daily. Wind with Force 7 Beaufort makes boarding a tough task !! Don’t be afraid! It happens very often, people are used t to handle things smoothly even under more extreme conditions !!
